State Archery Tournament
The 2012 NASP Louisiana State Archery Tournament will be held at Louisiana College, 1140 College Drive, Pineville, Louisiana on March 18th, 2012. Registration is at 8am.

Caddo Magnet High School placed 1st in the 2011 NASP State Archery Tournament held at Byrd High School on Saturday, March 19th, 2011.

The top 5 all around individual awards:
Adam Garcia placed 1st in the AA shooting 280
Connor Bacon placed 2nd in the AA shooting 277
Heather Trafford placed 3rd in the AA shooting 276
Avery Lorenzato placed 5th in the AA shooting 272
Adam Garcia and Heather Trafford received new bows for the top male and top female shooter as well!

2011 NASP NATIONALS

CMHS is the first team from Louisiana to ever attend the NASP Nationals!
On May 13th & 14th, 6,731 individuals, 393 teams from 34 states competed at the 2011 NASP Nationals held in Louisville, Kentucky. The target range inside the Kentucky Fair and Exposition Center was more than 1,250 feet long (a world record). There were kids at this event from as far away as Alaska!
Caddo Magnet High School place 87th out of 111 high school teams, shooting a 3079. I just want to say that I am very proud of our archery team and their accomplishments. It was simply an amazing experience--one that we will all learn and grow from.
Team Highlights:
Nick Grissom, shot a 278, placing 179th in the High School Male Division, which had 1,236 shooters, and 327th in the All Around Male Division, which had 4, 037 shooters.
Heather Trafford, shot a 269, placing 196th in the High School Female Division, which had 879 shooters, and 381st in the All Around Female Division, which had 2,694 shooters.
I would like to thank our parent volunteers for helping get us there safely: Mr. & Mrs. Garcia, Mr. Hall, Mrs. Thompson, Mrs. Blackmon, Mrs. Vea, Mrs. Bacon and Mr. Trafford. Thank you to CMHS Administration for their support in allowing NASP to take place in our school. A big thank you to Mr. Allen Carter at Caddo Parish School Board for supporting my efforts in sending the first team ever from Louisiana to Nationals. Another big thank you to Mr. Richard Kennady of Oasis Printing in Bossier City for making our wonderful team t-shirts. And a special "thank you" to Mr. Pistol Young and Bayou State Bowhunters Association for generously supporting Caddo Magnet High School at this amazing event!
